Mickaela GoodAbout the Photographer

Growing up I have always had a camera in my face, thanks to my father. He showed me the beauty of capturing a moment with the click of the shutter. I learned to always smile because you could always be caught by the camera at any moment. My father gave me my first "real" camera when I entered High School Photography, a Pentax K1000. It allowed me to document my high school years in the 35mm I knew and loved. I took four years of classes in High School and learned about composition, lighting and cropping. When I went on to college, I found the photography classes to restricting, so I took one semester of photography and switched my major. I found that I am not an abstract type of photographer. I like to capture people and moments of time in the moment. So, I moved on. I finished my degree and began working in Financial Planning, where I continue to work, but I decided that I needed a creative outlet to explore. This prompted me to pick up my Canon Powershot and start taking pictures again. Once I decided that I still enjoyed capturing those moments I decided to get a Nikon D40x. I now have the ability to capture and edit all of the moments in the lives of the people around me. I pride myself in taking photographs that not only capture the moment, but make you look the best you can possibly look.
